MOSS 2007, Windows 7 and explorer view
For the last 2 weeks I have been quietly cursing out my machine as I browse SharePoint document libraries in explorer view. As discussed in this TechNet post, on a fresh install I was flying through folders at first when browsing SP in explorer view. For soem reason over the past few weeks it has been crawling, taking quite some time in between folders. A simple IE setting change seemed to have taken care of it.
In IE, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings
Uncheck Automatic configuration.
BEWARE – This did crash explorer on both my machine and a co-workers, but after a restart we were both flying through explorer view again.
