Twitter announces a new user interface, #newtwitter
Twitter has announced a new user interface that will be rolling out over the next few weeks. Some of the big highlights include:
- Embeded images and video from all of the popular sharing services like YouTube, Twitpic, flickr, Vimeo and more.
- Related content for selected tweets that show similar conversations, replies, or relevant geographic information.
- Mini profiles from your tweet stream that show recent tweets for a user and other info.
While these changes are going to make people spend more time on the physical Twitter site, it won’t mean anything unless they continue the improvement on the reliability of the site itself. Recent changes in API limits has helped but that all to familiar fail whale is still popping up from time to time. I’m looking forward to this update as a change is long over due.
